Vice President Mike Pence visited Georgia on Tuesday to tour storm damage caused by Michael. According to farmers, the storm brought record losses to Georgia’s agricultural economy. Vice President Pence and Mrs. Karen Pence arrived in Albany on Tuesday morning.
The two then toured damaged farms in the region. Pence spoke at the Sunbelt Agricultural Expo where he reassured farmers that the administration would aid those impacted by the storm.
President Donald Trump visited Macon on Monday where he also spoke with farmers about the devastation left behind by Michael. Though they gathered at a soybean farm, cotton and pecan growers joined in on the conversation, telling the president about the record crop losses in the region.
