HINESVILLE, Ga. – The Hinesville Fire Department and Hinesville Police Department have made an arrest in the Jungle Jake’s arson case.
According to Robert Kitchings, the Hinesville Fire Department Captain, Hinesville police arrested Brett Salisbury, 30, on Friday afternoon without incident for the fire at Jungle Jake’s Hobbies & Games on Wednesday, March 27 and an incident occurring at Gamers Only on Saturday, April 13.
Kitchings said Salisbury was arrested and faces charges of burglary and arson at both locations. Salisbury is alleged to have attempted to start a fire at the Gamers store located on West General Screven Way in a local shopping center. Kitchings said the fire in the Gamers Only store burned itself out before it could cause any damage.
Kitchings credits good old fashion police work for solving the case.
“We beat the streets and began shaking trees until the right things fell out and we were able to put a case together and press charges on Salisbury, who is facing two counts of arson 1st degree, two counts burglary and two counts possessing tools for a crime.”
Kitchings and the other investigators talked to members of the gaming community in order to single out Salisbury as a person of interest. Kitchings believes Salisbury may have allegedly started the fires to cover his tracks after breaking into the stores.
Salisbury will make his first appearance Monday before a Magistrate Judge. He is currently incarcerated at the Liberty County Jail In Hinesville.
