A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the entire WSAV area until 9pm. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to spread from the east into the Coastal Empire and Low Country this afternoon. Some of the storms could become severe.
A severe thunderstorm watch means atmospheric conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to form.
A severe thunderstorm warning means a severe thunderstorm has DEVELOPED and is capable of producing damaging winds and hail.
Severe weather is possible through much of the southeast up through the Mid-Atlantic States. Timeline for severe weather is from 2pm through 8pm tonight. Our main threats will be damaging winds (up to 60 mph) and large hail.
