Behind the Scenes of Skatefest at the Savannah Civic Center

You don’t need to travel up north to enjoy a winter wonderland!

One of Savannah’s most popular holiday traditions has returned to the Civic Center. You can show off your moves on the ice at Skatefest all month long.

The event is for all ages and skill levels. There are also skating helpers to make it easier for beginners to skate on the ice. It’s fun for the whole family to enjoy!

“Last year we had over 25,000 people, and we love that. A lot of the community comes out, not just from Savannah but from the local area, so we love to provide that opportunity for people to come out and actually ice skate in Savannah,” said Justin Strickland, the Acting Director at the Civic Center.

One session costs $8 per person including skate rentals. A six session pass costs $40 dollars. Each session will last an hour and a half. The event runs through January 2. Skatefest will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
