St. Vincent’s, Vidalia girls soccer prepared for state title battle

Sports

Two familiar foes will meet in the GHSA 2A girls soccer state championship. St. Vincent’s Academy and Vidalia each won a game against each other this year and the rubber match will determine ultimate bragging rights.

St. Vincent’s is no stranger to big moments. The Saints are two-time defending champions and recently beat Vidalia in the region championship.

The Indians, meanwhile, are in the state title for the first time in program history. Vidalia’s scoring leader, Ella Owen, has tallied 89 goals over the course of the season.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at Mercer University. WSAV’s Connor DelPrete will be in Macon bringing you live updates, highlights, and postgame reaction on-air and online.
