With a region championship in sight, the Benedictine Cadets exploded for five runs in the seventh inning to complete the comeback and take down Islands 13-10.

Thursday’s win earned the Cadets (18-7-1, 14-0) a Region 3AAA crown and preserved its undefeated region record.

Down 4-2 in the second inning, Benedictine used RBI-singles from Ryan Pickard and Josh Kindred to plate three runs and regain the lead.

The Cadets fell behind once again, this time by 5 runs, headed into the four inning. Benedictine proceeded to score 8 unanswered runs and win the game.

Benedictine continues its regular season at home Tuesday with a doubleheader against Beach. Islands wraps up its regular season with Wednesday and Friday games against Johnson.
