President Donald Trump has jumped into the Georgia GOP gubernatorial runoff with an endorsement for Brian Kemp.

Trump tweeted the following on Wednesday:

“Brian Kemp is running for Governor of the great state of Georgia. The Primary is on Tuesday. Brian is tough on crime, strong on the border and illegal immigration. He loves our Military and our Vets and protects our Second Amendment. I give him my full and total endorsement.”

The Secretary of State will face off against Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle on July 24.

Cagle has compared himself to the president in the past.

“The choice is clear – if you want an individual who is just like President Trump and also like Governor Deal – that says what he means and gets things done – then I’m your candidate,” he said during a debate in July.

While Cagle secured an endorsement from the Gov. Deal on Monday, the president’s recommendation swung the other way.
