Meet the candidates in the upcoming SC race for State Treasurer.
Curtis Loftis, Republican, Incumbent
Loftis is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and small business owner. He says that during his time as State Treasurer, he has seen a 49 percent increase in the number of families saving for college with Future Scholar, S.C.’s 529 college savings plan, and a 93 percent increase in contributions, a savings of $391,300,000 for state taxpayers by strategic sale of state bonds, a 226 percent increase in the amount of unclaimed property returned to S.C. citizens, among others. He says he is a strong fiscal conservative and passionate advocate of taxpayers.
Rosalyn L. Glenn, Democrat
Glenn is a native of Wellford, S.C. and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a BA in Sociology. She is an entrepreneur and the President and CEO of Glenn Destiny Consulting, LLC. She also has career experience in the banking industry. Her platform is to “raise the bar for fiscal responsibility” and she says she plans to provide “transparent, accountable and efficient banking, investment, and financial management services for South Carolina State
Sarah Work, American
Work has a 14-year career as a public accountant. She says she is running as an independent because “it is important for the State Treasurer to work with legislators from both sides of the aisle to make sure that South Carolina is prepared financially for the future.”
