Update: Students safe following school bus fire in Hardeeville

Hardeeville, SC (WSAV) – A school bus from Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle School caught fire Tuesday morning, May 29. According to Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, the bus caught fire while picking up students on Old Charleston Hwy. in Hardeeville after the bus began to leak coolant.

The driver and 10 students on board were evacuated and no injuries were reported. 

Another bus in the area transported the students to the school.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
