(WSAV) — Tropical Storm Cindy formed in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday afternoon, which makes it the third named tropical storm of the 2017 Atlantic season.

Tropical Storm Cindy is on track to stay to the west of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. However, tropical moisture on the east side of the track will lead to a greater risk of local showers and storms over the next few days.

Despite that, Tropical Storm Warnings have been issued along the Gulf Coast, from Texas to Florida.

Storm Team 3 will continue to track Cindy, in addition to Tropical Storm Bret, over the next few days.
