Two separate vehicle fires have been reported Tuesday morning in Savannah.
According to the Savannah Police Department (SPD), a vehicle fire started around 8:30 a.m. on I-16 westbound.
A video shows a semi-trailer truck on fire. SPD says the driver of the truck is believed to have gotten out safely before the fire started.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but police say it did not start because of a crash.
Westbound lanes approaching Dean Forest Road were closed as a result. Traffic was rerouted onto Chatham Parkway.
A second vehicle fire was reported on I-95 just before Exit 104 for the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport around 10:30 a.m.
Videos show a pickup truck engulfed in flames, towing a car that was not impacted as a result of the fire.
The fire was extinguished. No word on any injuries or the cause of the fire at this time.
