SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Police say a two-vehicle crash on Dean Forest Road Tuesday left a teenager with serious injuries.

According to the Savannah Police Department (SPD), around 6:45 a.m., 17-year-old Alyssa Strickling was driving southbound on Dean Forest Road approaching Pine Meadow Drive.

Josue Quiles, 50, was driving a tractor-trailer and made a left turn across Dean Forest Road, attempting to travel north.

Police say the teen, driving a Hyundai Accent, was unable to avoid striking the end of the trailer which hadn’t cleared the southbound lanes of Dean Forest.

She was transported to a Savannah hospital with serious injuries. The other driver was not injured.

SPD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
