SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Police are investigating a hit and run that happened on Victory Drive early Wednesday morning.

According to the Savannah Police Department (SPD), 62-year-old Gregory Tremble, a driver for Adam Cab, was traveling south on Bee Road around 1:00 a.m. His passenger, Brian Friel, 48, was also in the vehicle.

SPD says Christian Forsell, 28, was traveling east on Victory Drive at the same time. As Forsell approached a red light, he went to the right of the vehicles that were stopped, crossed a concrete island and hit Tremble’s Mercury Grand Marquis.

Police say the impact cause the cab to strike a light pole.

Forsell fled the scene but was later located, according to SPD. No charges have been filed at this time.

Tremble sustained minor injuries and Friel was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

SPD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is handling the investigation.
