SAVANNAH, GA (WSAV) – Commuters of President Street should be aware of a major traffic shift change that will be taking place Thursday, December 15.
The change will take place on President St. between East Broad and the Truman Parkway. According to officials, the traffic will move onto the new elevated roadway of President Street to allow construction to continue while leaving four lanes open for traffic.
Due to the shift, speed limits will be reduced to 20 mph and lanes will be narrowed. Drivers are asked to exercise caution and observe the speed limit.
The traffic shift will allow contractors to make final utility line connections, demolish and elevate existing President Street roadway, and install additional roadway and intersection improvements.
The President Street project is expected to be finished at the end of 2017.
