The Forest City Owls at the Savannah Bananas

Savannah, GA – The Savannah Bananas (9-9), hosted the Forest City Owls (9-9) tonight, Saturday June 25th, at Grayson Stadium.

The Bananas trailed 2-0 in the bottom of the first but they quickly began to peel away at the deficit. Braden Schewmake stole second and a wild throw tied up the score at 2-2.

Now 3-2, Georgia Southern University’s, Matt Anderson hit a chopper down right field to bring in Angel Camacho and Rylan Bannon.

The bats continued to stay hot for the Bananas when Jeff Nellis hit a chopper down left field to bring home Connor Stephens making the score 8-2.

The last run came from the bat of Augusta University’s Clint Hardy who hit a single to right field that allowed Jameson Hannah to come home and extend the lead 9-2.

The Bananas go on to outscore the Owls, 26-4 and improve on the season to 10-9.

Up next the Bananas will go on the road to take on Morehead City on Sunday and Wilmington on Monday. They will return to Grayson Stadium on Wednesday to host the Gastonia Grizzlies.
