Statesboro man arrested in child sex sting operation

TOOMBS COUNTY, Ga. – The Toombs County Sheriff’s Department says a man was arrested after he drove to the county to meet what he thought was a child for sex.

It’s a part of a collaborative investigation with the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Internet Crimes Against Children Task force, aimed at targeting potential child predators.

On June 29th, 24-year-old Matthew Hubbard, an equipment manager in Statesboro, traveled to Toombs County with the intent to meet a child for sex.

He’s now charged with Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.
