Hilton Head, SC – The Special Olympics North American Golf Invitational Tournament held their first event over the weekend at Port Royal Golf Club in Hilton Head. One Low Country golfer has been competing in Special Olympic Golf since he was seven. Scott Rohrer, was diagnosed with Autism when he was seven. His father, Jeffrey Rohrer said, Scott had trouble playing team sports and was told by an individual that children with Autism tend to do better with individual sports. So Scott’s dad handed him a golf club and now at the age of, 26, he hasn’t put it down. Scott’s natural swing and competitive nature has won him many gold medals since 2005.
