The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is looking into a fatal car accident that killed Thadea Williams, 30 of Stone Mountain Georgia.

The accident happened on Sunday (February 28th) around 3:13 a.m. on DeRenne Avenue near Reynolds street, according to Eunicia Baker, the Public Information Officer for the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department.

Williams was sitting in the front seat of a Hyundai Accent, driven by Antiqua Walker, 31, of Lithonia Georgia.

It was traveling eastbound when Williams and Walker reportedly pulled into the left turning lane to check out the car after the “check-engine” light came on, Baker said.

Then, Jacoby Minor, 35, of Savannah was also driving eastbound on DeRenne Avenue in a Chevrolet Camero, when he hit Williams with his car.

A passenger in the Camero immediately put Williams in the car and took her to Candler Hospital, where she later died.
