Savannah police investigating after woman shot, critically injured and second person hurt on Argyll Street


Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are asking for your help as they continue to investigate a domestic shooting that happened Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say the shooting happened on the 3300 block of Argyll Street at 12:09 p.m. Police found Paula Lovett, 49, inside of the home, suffering from a gunshot wound. They also found her fiance Thomas Mincey, 54, beaten with a baseball bat.

Paula Lovett is critical condition tonight at Memorial University Medical Center, while Thomas Mincey is in serious but stable condition.

Right now, detectives from the Violent Crimes division are searching for Joshua Lovett, 20. Authorities say he is wanted for shooting his mother, Paula Lovett and injuring Thomas Mincey. He is facing two counts of aggravated assault.

Joshua Lovett is being described by police as a black male, with his hair styled in medium-length twists. He is 5’7″ and weighs 160 pounds. Police say he is known to hang around ‘Carver Village’ and other nearby neighborhoods.

Police say they believe Joshua Lovett is armed and dangerous and anyone that comes in contact with him should call 911 immediately.
