Savannah Bananas Split Double Header with Gastonia Grizzlies

Savannah, Ga- Over 2,000 fans in attendance as the Savannah Bananas hosted the Gastonia Grizzles for a double header. In game one, the Bananas got on the board for the first time in the bottom of the fourth inning with a solo home run to left field by sophomore, Christain Hollie to give the Bananas a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the 5th with the Bananas leading 2-0 they extend their lead to 4-0 with a 2-run triple by Clint Hardy out of Augusta University. These RBI’s will bring in runners Will LaRue and Clay Dungan.

The Bananas will go on to score another run and deafeat the Gastonia Grizzlies 5-0. With the help of some good defense, pitcher Adam Scott pitched a shutout full seven innings.

In the second game, the Gastonia Grizzlies got their revenge on the Bananas and defeated them 1-0. The right handed pitcher Beau Sulser, a junior from Darmouth College made a phenomenal debut tonight for the Bananas.

Looking ahead the Bananas travel to Florence to take on the Redwolves tomorrow, June 16th. They will return home on Friday against Holly Springs. Tickets for this game are already sold out.

The Girzzlies will face the Lexington County Blowfish tomororrow at home.
