Reindeer Run to raise money for Rape Crisis Center

Runners in the region are training for an annual tradition: The Savannah Reindeer Run.

That’s the race on Hutchinson Island where people dress up in their favorite holiday costumes.

It’s an 8k race that starts and ends at the International Trade and Convention Center and winds its way through the race track and the roads that border the Westin at Savannah Harbor’s golf course.

This year, the 7th annual event will include a holiday market inside the trade center with a cookie contest and a visit from Santa. There will also be a kids race before the main event.

All the proceeds will support the Rape Crisis Center, more specifically, the prevention education program that offers healthy relationship training to local schools and organizations.

7 people including New 3’s Ben Senger have agreed to be Celebrity Runners this year to raise pledges to complete the race.
