With government reopened and President Donald Trump no longer feeling a need to stay in Washington, he is heading out for a weekend at his happy place: his Mar-a-Lago private club on Florida’s southeastern coast.

Trump typically spends many winter weekends at the Palm Beach estate, where he enjoys daily golf games at another private club he owns nearby. He also enjoys dinner on the Mar-a-Lago terrace, where he catches up with friends and club members.

Trump hasn’t visited the estate since Thanksgiving, partly because of the shutdown he ended a week ago after a record 35 days.

But as a fresh layer of snow blanketed the nation’s capital Friday, Trump and his wife, Melania, were set to arrive in Florida after sunset.
