SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Whether you’re a “dank sauce” fanatic or you’ve never quite braved the line on York Street — now might be the time to grab some Zunzi’s.

People magazine teamed up with The Infatuation, an online restaurant guide, to find the best sandwiches in the U.S., and in Georgia, one of Savannah’s own took the crown.

A staple sandwich at Zunzi’s, described as a combo of Swiss, Italian, South African and Dutch cuisine, was the top pick for the Peach State.

The title goes to the “Conquistador,” a chicken sandwich on French bread topped with some of Zunzi’s signature sauces.

“It’s exactly what you want for lunch when the last three days have been a blur of turkey and swiss,” Sarah Bailey with The Infatuation wrote.

The eatery first opened doors in the Hostess City in 2005 but expanded last May to Atlanta.
