Pres. Trump heads to N Korea Summit while his fmr. attorney prepares to testify before Congress

(NBC News) — President Donald Trump left for a Vietnam Monday, where he’ll hold a second round of denuclearization talks with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un.

“I think we’ll have a very tremendous summit. We want denuclearization,” Trump said prior to departing.

President Trump is optimistic, despite U.S. intelligence officials saying there have been no concrete steps from North Korea to scale back its nuclear weapons program since the first summit last June, which the president called a success.

As the president prepares for his talks in Vietnam, his former attorney and fixer Michael Cohen is gearing up for three days of Capitol Hill testimony, both private and public.

Last year Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations and lying to Congress about a scrapped trump tower project in Russia.
