Michael Cohen delivers new documents related to scrapped Trump Tower project in Russia

(NBC News) — Michael Cohen was back on Capitol Hill Wednesday for another day of closed-door testimony before the House Intelligence Committee.

A source tells NBC News Cohen turned over new documents related to a scrapped Trump Tower project in Russia, the subject he lied about to Congress in 2017.

House Democrats are ramping up investigations, based in part on Cohen’s explosive public testimony last week, including details of hush money payments made during the campaign.

Republicans say Cohen is an admitted liar, and dismissing the Democrats’ investigations as politically motivated.

The White House is refusing to hand over documents requested by the House Oversight Committee related to the security clearance process for the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka Trump, both West Wing advisors.

That request came after reports President Trump ignored concerns from intelligence officials and ordered security clearances for Kushner and his daughter.

The White House calls the request “overly intrusive.”
