Longtime “Jeopardy” host Alex Trebek says he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

He made the announcement in a video message to fans on Wednesday saying the diagnosis came this week.

“Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this,” he said. Trebek added that he is among the 50,000 others who are diagnosed with the disease in the United States each year.

The host says he will keep working, joking he’s contractually obligated to for three more years.

Trebek ended with a hopeful message: “Keep the faith and we’ll win. We’ll get it done. Thank you.”
