Georgia Power dispatches 500 employees to help restore power at Mississippi utility

ATLANTA (WSAV) — Georgia Power is sending 500 employees to assist Mississippi Power with its power restoration efforts.

The utility company says it will send line crews, engineers and support personnel from across Georgia. The Mutual Assistance Network partnership allows the company to offer aid and respond to power outages.

Mississippi has seen storm surge flooding with the landfall of Hurricane Ida.
