More than 150 soldiers returned home from Afghanistan Wednesday after nine months of deployment.
Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division (ID) were greeted at Cottrell Field with signs and screams from their loved ones.
The Command Team saluted the soldiers, then in the most anticipated moment, families rushed the field to embrace their troops.
Loved ones said they were filled with immense pride and joy seeing their soldiers return home safe.
“You adjust to your new normal and it’s like ‘Oh my gosh, you’re here!'” said Alex Ivins, wife of a returning soldier. “He amazes me. They all do. Just the sacrifice they make on a daily basis and everything they do for us. It’s very humbling.”
This was the last returning flight of Marne Soldiers in the 3rd ID.
