Mali hotel attacked, 170 hostages taken


The U.S. and French embassies in Mali are asking citizens to stay where they are after gunmen storm a popular hotel.

Men armed with guns and grenades shouted “God is great” as they into the Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali’s capital Friday morning. At

last report, 170 people, both guests and employees, were being held hostage.Three people are dead.

Some guests were able to get away, and others were released.

In an interview with the Associated Press, France’s national gendarme service confirmed that members of an elite police forec are en route from Paris to Bamako.
