A historic home in Pleasant Point Plantation on Lady’s Island caught fire Sunday night.
Drone video shows roughly half of the house engulfed in flames with crews working to extinguish it.
Sources say there was a limited amount of water to put out the fire.
The fire is believed to have been ignited by a lightning strike, but the fire department has yet to release the official cause.
According to the homeowner, they were not able to get through to 911 from their cellphones. Jasper, Beaufort and surrounding counties were experiencing 911 connection issues throughout the night.
An online house listing says the home was built in 1929 and is known as the “Manor House.” It is located along the Beaufort River.
