SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Crews responded to a trolley on fire near Forsyth Park Friday morning.
The fire broke out on an Old Savannah Tours trolley near the Mansion on Forsyth Park on Drayton Street around 11:30 a.m.
A witness said the fire escalated quickly, although the occupants “at first weren’t even aware there was a fire.”
According to Jim Lucas with Old Savannah Tours, all guests on board got out safely. He added that the details surrounding the cause of the fire are still being determined.
A spokesperson for Savannah Fire says the rear of the trolley was completely engulfed in flames. The driver told fire officials that he had been having trouble with the starter earlier in the morning.
