RIDGELAND, S.C. (WSAV) – A suspect has been arrested in a December drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a 5-year-old boy, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) announced Friday.
JCSO said the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gregory Harris Scott, 20, of Beaufort, in Macon, Georgia on Thursday.

The sheriff’s office says the arrest comes after JCSO detectives identified Scott as a suspect and obtained a warrant.
On Dec. 28, deputies responded to the Wagon Branch area of Jasper County in reference to a drive-by shooting where 5-year-old DeAndre Robinson was shot.
DeAndre died from his injuries at a hospital.
WSAV News 3 spoke to his parents in the days after his death. His mother says the family is heartbroken but determined to focus on the joy their little boy brought into their lives.
“He loved life, he loved school, he loved his parents, he loved just everything about breathing,” said Deanna Frazier.
Harris is currently in the Bibb County Georgia Law Enforcement Center awaiting extradition back to Jasper County.
