SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Savannah Police say a child has been hospitalized after being shot Thursday 
afternoon.

Around 4:45 p.m., Officers responded to the 700 unit block of Yamacraw Village, where they found a 3-year-old child suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.

Officials tell News 3 the child was transported to Memorial Health in stable condition. 

According to Investigators, the child was left in the care of two relatives when the shooting took place.

21-year old Dyanta Samuels, one of the adults watching the child, was arrested quickly after.

The shooting has been determined accidental.
