STATESBORO, Ga (WSAV) - Police have arrested a suspect in a shooting incident outside a Statesboro restaurant earlier this month.
We're told Frank Junior Emeka, 22, of Conyers, turned himself in over the weekend.
Officials say Emeka is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and one count of Reckless Conduct.
Back on May 5th, authorities responded to Midtown Bar and Grill in reference to a call of a fight with shots fired. When Statesboro Police officers arrived on scene, they encountered a large crowd in the parking lot of the business. Units from Georgia Southern University Police Department, Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgia State Patrol were called in to assist with crowd control and scene management while detectives from the Statesboro Police Department began investigating.
Two victims with apparent gunshot wounds were located and transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators later determined that Emeka was the primary suspect in that shooting incident.
Kelly Butler, 22, of Riverdale, was also arrested on scene for Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement.
