A South Carolina man is recovering after a shooting inside a Walmart Distribution Center Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say the suspect, later identified as Deborah Morgan, and the victim both worked at the facility.
The victim, who was shot in the leg, apparently had a protective order against Morgan.
Laurens County officials say the incident triggered a massive response from law enforcement. It took hours to find everyone hiding in the warehouse after word spread that someone had a gun.
“The frustrating thing, that is a very big building, it didn’t have radio communication with every person in there, they all took cover, hid underneath tables and such, locked themselves in the rooms,” explained, Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds. “It took a very long time for them to go around slowly and get the word to these people.”
Morgan was arrested as she sat in a breakroom. She faces multiple charges, including assault and battery with intent to kill.
Authorities have not said what prompted the shooting.
