A massive fire destroyed a Clemson University fitness center Friday morning.
Fire officials said crews responded to a fire alarm around 7:30 a.m. at the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center, located across the lake from the football stadium.
Upon arrival, the building was covered in heavy smoke.
Crews from across the area responded to the center, with some 40 firefighters assisting at one point. The Clemson Fire Chief said it took about an hour and 30 minutes to contain the flames.
No injuries were reported. One employee was in an office adjacent to the building at the time of the fire, but he got out safely.
No word yet on what caused the blaze.
