SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Fire Department (SFD) battled a house fire that endangered multiple homes Tuesday morning.

The blaze also led to the closure of a portion of West Victory Dr.

SFD says the fire occurred at a vacant house in the 700 block of W. Victory Dr.

Savannah fire crews responded to the call just before 4:00 a.m. and arrived to discover the single-story residential structure fully engulfed in flames.

Officials say the fire spread to three nearby houses and a parked car.

Two of the neighboring houses sustained significant fire and smoke damage; one was occupied the other was vacant. A fourth house sustained minor damage.

The vacant house where the fire originated was destroyed.

SFD says no one was physically injured.

The fire displaced two people and two pets. The Red Cross was called to assist.

Crews reopened West Victory Dr. to traffic later that morning.

SFD continues to investigate the cause of the blaze.
