Edna Jackson sworn in as newest state representative

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Georgia’s newest state representative, Edna Jackson, was sworn in this week.

On Nov. 2, Savannah voters chose the former mayor to serve out the vacated House District 165 seat of the late Rep. Mickey Stephens. The remainder of the term will run until the end of 2022.

Jackson tells WSAV News 3 she received many of the committee assignments she hoped for, including Higher Education, Economic Development & Tourism and Human Relations & Aging.
