SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV)- Parker’s Gas station presented Savannah Chatham County Public Schools with a generous donation Thursday morning.
Throughout the year Parker’s collects one cent of every gallon of gas sold on the first Wednesday of the month.
The $25,000 they raised this year will go toward school supply costs and various programs within our local schools.
Greg Parker, the CEO of Parker’s Gas Stations presented the check to the students at Godley Station K8 school just before they’re graduation ceremony Thursday morning.
“When community and school come together for the betterment of our children we can only expect great things to happen in the community because the schools are products of which the community they live,” said Dr. Valerie Cave, Executive Director for K-8 Governance.
Cave added that the partnership with Parker’s Corporations has been a success and they hope to continue working with them in the future.
