Our Hometown: ‘Socks for Courtney’ kicks off donation drive

Local News

One local family has turned their heartbreak into a way to help others.

Socks for Courtney is a nonprofit organization in memory of Courtney Kemp– who passed away

6 years ago due to an undiagnosed heart disease.

Her love of socks inspired her parents to bring awareness to pediatric heart disease as well as various charities and civic organizations.

This year, Courtney would have celebrated her sixteenth birthday. To celebrate, Socks for Courtney will launch their “Sixteen Flavors of Socks Campaign.”

They’re inviting at least 16 companies/organizations to join forces with them to host Sock Drives.

The campaign will kick off on Courtney’s birthday, August 30th.

If you’d like to donate or host a sock drive, call: (912) 531-4404 or email:
