Local News

Biscuits and Sneakers.

It seems like an unlikely combination but this weekend, the Savannah Tribune is putting them together to celebrate its 143rd anniversary.

They’re calling it, “A Biscuit Brunch and Sneaker Ball.”

Wear your flyest footwear and bring an extra pair to donate to charity. It’s a day of ‘fun, competition, and service.’

There will also be tributes to Savannah pioneers in journalism and special guests Dorothy Leavell and Dr. Benjamin Chavis of the National Newspaper Publisher’s Association.

The event gets underway Saturday, August 11, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm at the DeSoto (15 E. Liberty Street).

Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the Savannah Tribune (1805 MLK Blvd) or  Lester’s Florist (2100 Bull Street).
