Nine displaced after fire on 37th Street

The fire started at a vacant house then spread to the neighboring attic.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Nine Savannah residents have been displaced from their homes following a fire at a vacant house at 204 W. 37th St around 3:30 a.m. this morning.  

Firefighters arrived on scene within one minute to find the house completely engulfed into flames.The fire had extended to the attic of the neighboring house at 202 w. 37th St.

Crews were able to put out the blaze while other personnel alerted the neighbors and helped them out of their homes. Nine residents were evacuated out of 202 W. 37th St and six residents were evacuated from 210 W. 37th St. 

Savannah Fire prevented the blaze from extending to 210 W. 37th Street and extinguished the fires at 204 and 202 W. 37th Street. No one was injured.
