Students at New Hampstead High School have returned to class following a report of a bomb threat.
According to a spokesperson for Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, the threat was sent by e-mail.
After interviewing someone about the threat, officials deemed it not credible. But students were evacuated from the building and campus police searched the school, which officials say is protocol.
A parent of one New Hampstead High student tells News 3 an ambulance responded to the school. We’re told some students may have been passed out from the heat.
At 12:15 p.m. the building was given the “all clear” and students went back to class.
New Hampstead High School is located on Little Neck Road in Bloomingdale.
