Friends and family gathered to say a final goodbye to a Lowcountry teenager.
Earlier this month, we told you the remains of 18-year old Malik Spencer were found about an hour from his home.
Spencer was reported missing back in December. His vehicle was found four days later on St. Helena Island.
A Memorial Service was held Friday at Battery Creek High School in Spencer’s honor.
His family tells News 3 he was a quiet, laid back teen who “didn’t have a mean bone in his body”.
“He always stayed in the good crowds. If anything like this was to happen, he’d be the last person you’d expect this to happen to because of who he hung around and what he did. He was an innocent guy., just went to school, work, and church,” said Deshaun Williams, a friend of Malik Spencer.
Spencer was a student at Whale Branch Early College.
“We wholly and entirely lean and depend upon God who we know will get us through the hardest of times and bring us to the other side. We know that God is going to fix it and work it out because he is a revealer of truths,” said Nicole Gellineau, a cousin of Malik Spencer.
Spencer’s funeral service will be held Saturday, February 16th at New Hope Christian Church in Beaufort at 12 p.m.
