Lowcounty fire departments send volunteers to Hartsville, SC

Three engines from Lady’s Island/St. Helena, Beaufort/Port Royal, and Burton Fire Departments are on their way to Hartsville, SC to assist with Hurricane Florence relief.

Each engine is carrying four volunteers. 

They will be in Hartsville for 24 hours but are prepared to be there longer, if needed.

They plan to assist with clearing roadways and helping community members in need, in addition to anything else staff needs.

Volunteers left from the Burton Fire District at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

Beaufort County EMS and Jasper County Fire and Rescue both deployed volunteers Monday.
