Hundreds say final goodbyes to Albert ‘Spud’ Dock

Local News

It was standing room only on Saturday when hundreds packed the gymnasium of Liberty County High School. Family and friends of Albert ‘Spud’ Dock said their final goodbyes to the star basketball player.

18-year-old Albert Dock was killed in an accident. Police say a 22-year-old Antoine McClendon hit the teen’s car near Midway.

Family and friends of Dock shed tears as they listened to the choir sing.

“It puts yourself in the family’s shoes. You know, it could easily be any of our kids. My son is 18-years-old, he’s in college, I pray for him every day. It’s personal to me. When you have a young man, life is cut short, it’s personal,” said Regienald Pierce, the Liberty County coroner and director of Dorchester Funeral Home.

Those close to Dock say he had an electric personality both on and off the court.
