WATCH: Eleven people rescued from rushing river water in Lawrenceville

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (WSAV) – Gwinnett County firefighters and police rescued 11 people from rushing water on Saturday.

Officials said a thunderstorm cause a river in Lawrenceville to swell, leading to extremely swift currents. Ten children and one adult were stranded and rescued from the water.

The rescue took about an hour, and everyone is expected to be alright.
