Teen drives car through Athens Chick-fil-A

Georgia News

ATHENS, Ga. (WXIA) – A young girl at an Athens Chick-fil-A gave a whole new meaning to “drive-thru” service.

Just before 4 a.m. Tuesday, a car crashed into the building on Alps Road as police were trying to pull the vehicle over.

According to Athens-Clarke County Police, an officer spotted a car driving “in a way that attracted his attention.” He then ran the tag number and found out the vehicle was stolen.

The first officer tried to pull the car over, but the driver wouldn’t stop, and he lost sight. A second officer saw the car and attempted to stop it before the crash.

Investigators say two teenagers, a female driver and male passenger, were taken into custody.

Police said no one was injured in the incident.

Owner Shane Todd said mostly glass windows, booths and tables were damaged. He said they are working as quickly as they can to reopen the restaurant.
