BIBB COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Four inmates who escaped the Bibb County Detention Center one month ago have all been apprehended.
Fifty-two-year-old Joey Fournier, the final missing escapee, was captured near Stockbridge on Nov. 18.
Johnifer Barnwell, 39, was taken into custody after being found at a home in Augusta on Nov. 12.
Marc Anderson, 25, was taken into custody on Nov. 3 in Atlanta.
Twenty-nine-year-old Chavis Stokes was taken into custody in a Montezuma home on Oct. 26.
Officials said the inmates walked away from the jail after escaping through a damaged window around 3 a.m. on Oct. 16.
They then cut through a fence and were picked up by someone in a blue Dodge Challenger, investigators said.
Earlier this week, a federal grand jury formally charged Barnwell with one count of escape from custody. Meanwhile, Janecia Green, 30, was indicted on one count of assisting the escape of a person committed to custody.
Both charges carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
FBI Atlanta offered rewards of up to $25,000 for info leading to the escapees’ capture. The total reward amount stood at $73,000 when combined with rewards from the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshals Service.
Bibb County is located in the Central Georgia region roughly 180 miles west of Savannah. It’s the largest county in the Macon metropolitan area.
