BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) – The family of a woman killed in an alligator attack last year has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a Beaufort County resort.
The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Beaufort County against Sea Pines Resort, LLC, on behalf of James Cline, the husband of Cassandra Cline.
The lawsuit claims the company was “aware of the problems with alligators at Sea Pines Plantation, and had a duty to properly inspect, maintain and keep the premises free of hazards to the public.”
In August of 2018, Cline, a teacher from New York, was walking her dog when she was attacked by the gator and killed.
